One of Australia’s most successful comedians and international laughter expert, Anthony Ackroyd will use his talents to teach parents how to make family fun in a seminar for parents on Thursday May 21.

In this 90 minute talk, Ackroyd will give parents and caregivers the knowledge, resources, tools and techniques they need to skilfully and joyfully develop a child’s sense of humour and set them up for a happy, joy-filled life. In the process parents will reconnect with their own ability to laugh and have fun, a valuable asset for parenting.

Ackroyd, himself a parent of two, is particularly passionate about helping children and families to reap the benefits of humour, laughter, play and fun. He worked as a clown-doctor in the children’s wards of hospitals for several years and saw the power of laughter bring joy to sick children and their parents.

‘It is fun that helps transform a house into a happy, nurturing home,’ Ackroyd said. ‘There is no greater gift a parent can give their child than the skills to enjoy, create and share laughter.’

The talk is part of Gowrie’s NSW’s parenting series. Parents can book online at www.gowriensw.com.au.
