Information, Resources and Training

Walk together in learning

Gowrie NSW Cultural Learning Ground will be a place for all Gowrie NSW staff to access information, resources and training on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island cultures, to build awareness and capacity across our organisation.

It will be a space for our people to come together, share, grow and walk together in our learning. This will be a safe and welcoming platform where culturally inclusive practice is at the forefront of our planning, programming and conversations.

Gowrie NSW Cultural Learning Ground is a program and platform for Gowrie NSW staff only and is available on the Gowrie intranet platform 'Zara'.

Michelle Hamilton talks about the Cultural Learning Ground

Gowrie NSW Cultural Learning Ground is a place where we can;

  • share our inclusive practice and learnings
  • share photo's and video's
  • share ideas and resources
  • discuss how we celebrate Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • identify and acknowledge significant events
  • access our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

Gowrie NSW Cultural Learning Ground will provide opportunities for all staff to engage in learning circles, workshops, webinars as well as face-to-face consultations with our Cultural Learning Ground Manager Michelle Hamilton.

"My aim is that we can further develop knowledge and understanding through sharing and truth telling, while educating others within our sphere of influence. We welcome all our Gowrie NSW people to engage and continue to share your own development, knowledge and experiences".

"Through managing a platform such as this, my aim is to ensure that going forward we have a strong foundation of cultural knowledge across our organisation and this will continue to grow over the coming years".  Michelle Hamilton
