Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi OSHC has officially been rated Exceeding the National Quality Standard, a well-earned recognition that reflects the service’s deep commitment to quality practice, strong relationships and child-centred learning.
Program Manager Georgina Clark says the rating simply affirms what the team has always known.
“As a service, we’ve always believed we were exceeding. To receive that formal recognition is a true statement of the work we do every day,” she says.
For Georgina, who has been instrumental in shaping the service’s welcoming, inclusive culture, the result is both personal and professional.
“All the work put into building the service up and making it feel like a place where children and families want to be – it’s lovely to see that acknowledged.”
Preparation and consistent practice
The Assessment and Rating process can be intense, but Georgina’s approach is grounded in preparation and consistent practice.
“The turnaround is quick, so being prepared in your day-to-day practice is what really matters. Embedding those exceeding practices every day puts you in the best position.”
At the heart of the Kinross Wolaroi OSHC success story is a team who bring unique strengths and a shared vision.
“A good leader is someone who understands the importance of the team and the individual strengths each person brings,” Georgina says. “I rely on my team every day. They support me just as much as I support them.”
Key strengths underpin achievements
When asked what underpins their achievement, Georgina points to three key strengths:
- A wide range of experience across the team
- Unique areas of interest and expertise
- A strong sense of shared responsibility and collaboration
Each of these elements helps create a vibrant and inclusive environment where children, families, and educators thrive.
Congratulations to the entire team at Kinross Wolaroi for this outstanding result.
