The Environment: a place of possibility with Kelly Goodsir

The environments that you create tell a story of your values and beliefs about teaching and learning. This workshop with Kelly Goodsir will inspire you to design spaces that spark curiosity, foster investigation, and encourage play. Through practical strategies, you and Kelly will explore how intentional design can make learning visible and transform the way you organise space.

The learning environment speaks loudly of values, hopes and ideas for the way we show up to teaching and learning. Moving beyond the simplicity of toys on tables and designing a context that invites investigation, curiosity and challenge takes time, collaboration and a shared team commitment to high expectations.

How we organise space, position furniture as well as select and offer materials will have great influence how children feel, think and play.  The environment communicates your pedagogical ideas, makes learning visible and holds space for the interconnection between play and intentionality. This session will share some practical ideas about designing contexts for investigation whilst inviting you to reimagine the way we organise space.
