Building Secure Attachments

At Gowrie NSW, we understand that choosing care for your baby is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. That’s why everything we do is designed to create a warm, safe, and nurturing start - built on connection, trust, and genuine relationships.

A trusted relationship

From your baby’s very first day, we focus on forming secure, respectful relationships. Every baby is paired with a Primary Educator - a consistent, caring presence who truly gets to know your child and family. Your babies primary educator builds trust and comfort supports smooth transitions and offers consistent care throughout the day. This close connection allows your baby to feel safe, seen and supported - building the foundation for confident exploration and joyful learning.

Respectful routines, personalised care

We follow your baby’s natural rhythm - not a rigid schedule. Whether it’s feeding, sleeping or playtime, our educators respond with gentle care and respect at every step. Your child’s routine shapes the day...and every care moment is also a learning moment. Babies are encouraged to participate, building confidence and a sense of self because we believe even the youngest children are capable and full of potential.

Our Learning Environments

We know that when children feel secure, they engage in play, and through play, they learn. Our experienced teams create environments that feel familiar and calm, where your baby can explore confidently at their own pace.

Our environments are intentional and purposefully designed using:

  • sensory rich material
  • soft natural lightinng and open-ended play objects
  • safe inviting spaces for movement and discovery
  • indoor and outdoor learning environments

Our teachers and educators observe your baby closely and respond by creating play opportunities that match their curiosity and abilities.

What a Day Looks Like for Babies

Throughout the day

Every day in our Babies environment is thoughtfully planned - but always responsive to the needs and rhythms of each child.

Babies engage in activities that stimulate their senses and promote social interactions, such as feeling different textures, reaching for toys, and listening to songs. Nap and meal times are integrated into the day to support their physical needs and help develop self-regulation.

With a focus on building strong, responsive relationships, the primary educator ensures that each baby’s needs are met while fostering a nurturing, enriching environment where babies feel safe, secure, and ready to explore the world around them.

A typical day for babies at Gowrie NSW begins with a warm welcome from their primary educator. Babies are supported through a balanced routine of quiet moments, sensory play, and opportunities for exploration.

As the day unfolds, we carefully observe and respond to each baby’s cues. Some are ready to explore, others may still need emotional reassurance or closeness. There’s no pressure, no rush - just gentle support, based on what your child needs in the moment. Our environments are intentionally designed to spark curiosity and allow for safe, sensory-rich exploration. Whether your baby is watching light through the window, rolling on a soft mat or grasping a favourite object, every moment is part of their learning journey.

Waking from rest looks different for every child. Some need a cuddle. Others are ready to move straight back into play. We honour those differences, creating a calm and unhurried transition. When your baby is ready, we invite them to participate in simple tasks, like helping to pack away their sleep items. These small steps build independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.

As the day winds down, we maintain a calm, supportive environment. We help your baby prepare for home - putting on shoes, collecting belongings, and reconnecting with their Primary Educator. We also take time to share important updates with you, so you’re informed and connected. For children still waiting to be picked up, we remain present and attentive - offering cuddles, conversation or quiet play. Our focus is always on helping your baby feel safe, supported and emotionally secure - right until the end of their day.

First 1000 days

The first 1000 days are of critical importance in a child’s life. This spans from conception to around 3 years old. This time is crucial for brain development and significantly influences children's future outcomes. A child’s environment, particularly the love and positive interactions they receive, plays a vital role in their brain development. It’s not just about genetics; the experiences and interactions during these early days are fundamental, both at home and in our early learning settings.

At Gowrie NSW, we focus on creating safe, secure and supported environments. This nurturing experience for children helps in their holistic development and a resilient brain, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Childcare Subsidy and Support

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government payment that helps eligible Australian families cover the cost of approved childcare services. It’s designed to make early education and care more affordable and accessible, supporting families as they work, study, or look for employment.
