CAPACITY BUILDING - KELSO OSHC
Strenghening our team for your child's success
At Gowrie NSW, our culturally responsive educators are focused on creating a warm, welcoming space where every child feels at home. Our team at Kelso OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) is dedicated to developing a deep understanding of each child and their family. By understanding each child’s unique background, we build an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and valued. This sense of belonging helps children interact with care, empathy, and respect.
Embracing Professional Growth
As part of Gowrie NSW's ongoing commitment to our educator’s professional development, we have engaged in an individualised, strengths-based, pilot program for Kelso OSHC educators. An external consultant has been engaged to work alongside Kelso OSHC team to build educators capacity. The consultant has worked with the team to review various elements of our care environments, reflecting on and improve our practices in an authentic, caring, inclusive and purposeful manner.
Tailoring Programs to Fit Your Needs
One of the key takeaways from this program has been the importance of customising our programs to meet the specific needs of the families we serve. Our educators have gained valuable insights into designing and delivering programs that truly resonate with our community. This approach ensures that every activity and interaction is meaningful and supportive of each child’s development.
Building Strong Community Connections
A cornerstone of our work is building strong bonds with the community. The consultant’s guidance has helped our team at Kelso OSHC foster close-knit relationships with families, respecting their cultural contexts. These connections are crucial for creating an environment where children and their families feel a deep sense of identity and belonging.
Fostering Inclusivity and Wellbeing
Ultimately, our goal is to create a space where every child feels included and secure. By acknowledging and celebrating each family’s unique context, we promote a sense of wellbeing and self-confidence in our children. This inclusive approach not only benefits the children but also enriches our entire community, teaching everyone the values of empathy, respect, and care.
Join us at Gowrie NSW Kelso OSHC as we continue to build a brighter future for every child, one inclusive and supportive step at a time!
