Understanding Infants and Toddlers Sleep

Gowrie NSW has partnered with Australia’s leading infant and toddler sleep consultants, SleepSmart, to provide Early Education and Care professionals brand new workshops enabling you to gain skills in understanding and settling children.

This customised workshop equips you to;
• Understand the importance of sleep to infants and toddlers and their social and emotional health
• Learn how to create and foster safe sleeping environments for infants and toddlers
• Help infants settle by using an infant mental health approach

In the first years of life, your child’s brain develops more and faster than at any other time in their life. Join the experts and explore the importance of relationships and interactions and also how these early experiences not only form the foundations for a child’s ongoing development but also how it impacts their mental health and well-being. Learn evidence-based information and guidelines on how to create a safe sleeping environment for infants and young children and tune-in to infant’s unique needs, cues and capabilities. Dive deep into what factors contribute to sleep disturbances in the first 12 months and learn step-by-step, age appropriate settling strategies.

This tailored workshop is a must for any Early Education and Care professional caring for children under the age of three.
