Seeing the process of observation as a way to capture the story that ‘comes to us’ from the child, means that we have an opportunity to create meaningful documentation that authentically reflects the child. This workshop explores key theories and philosophy surrounding ‘pedagogy of listening’ and shows how this is an important foundation for writing meaningful and authentic observations. Following opportunities for individual and shared reflection, participants are able to explore some introductory ideas of story telling and writing and use tools for observation.
