About your presenters:
Christine Zuvela has a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a Masters of Autism Studies. She has worked in Early Childhood Services as well as Early Intervention Services for over 19 years. Christine has experience in coaching early childhood professionals to include children with additional needs. She is currently the Centre Director at SDN Beranga Preschool, an education and care service for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. At SDN Children’s Services, Christine has developed diverse workshops on supporting children with Autism and has also presented these workshops to Early Childhood Services as part of a funded program. She presents at conferences and universities on this important work and engages with the media writing articles for local blogs and newspapers on supporting children with Autism.
Laura Spiteri has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Social Work (Qualifying). She has more than ten years’ experience working with children in various sectors, including several years working at SDN Beranga, an Autism Specific Preschool at Rooty Hill. As part of her current role with SDN she supports early childhood educators, allied health therapists and families to better understand the needs of children with Autism and support their inclusion in early education and child care.
